Each of these kits contains what you need to knit a traditional Icelandic sweater for women: the pattern and enough genuine Icelandic wool yarn to make the largest size, with needles available as an add-on. Knit a classic lopapeysa — the traditional yoke sweater — or choose a cardigan or a more modern design from Icelandic and Nordic knitwear designers.
What yarn comes in the kits?
We pack Icelandic lopi yarns such as Léttlopi and Álafoss Lopi, in shades from heathered grays and browns to bold reds and yellows. Lopi keeps both fibers of the Icelandic fleece, which is why a finished sweater is warm, light, breathable and naturally water-resistant.
