Shipping, Duties & Returns

Everything we sell ships from our warehouse in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland — packed by our own small team and sent worldwide. Here is exactly how shipping, duties and returns work, with no fine print.

U.S. orders: duties are included at checkout

Since July 2026, all U.S. import duties are calculated and collected at checkout, together with your order. The total you see at checkout is the full and final price — no customs bills, no carrier fees, no surprises at the door. We handle the customs paperwork and payment on your behalf, and your parcel is delivered with nothing further to pay.

Shipping options and delivery times

• DHL Express — our fastest option: typically 2–5 business days after dispatch, with full tracking. Recommended for the U.S. and anything time-sensitive.
• Iceland Post — the economical option: typically 5–15 business days, traceable.

The options available for your country are shown at checkout after you enter your address. We don't mark up shipping — the price you see is what the carrier charges us.

When will my order ship?

We dispatch most orders within 1–3 working days. We can't guarantee this timeframe — it can vary with the season, product availability and weather (this is Iceland, after all).

Hand-knitted and tailor-made sweaters are different: each one is knitted individually for you after you order, by one of our knitters. That takes anywhere from a few weeks to several months depending on the design and the season. You're always welcome to ask us for a status update.

Customs outside the U.S.

For destinations outside the U.S. — for example the EU, Canada and Australia — import duties or VAT may be charged when your order arrives in your country. These charges are set and collected by your local authorities; your local customs office can tell you what to expect.

Returns and exchanges

Returns are accepted within 30 days of receiving your order, for unused items in their original packaging. Email us first with your order number, then ship the item to: Ísprjón (Icelandic Store), Miðhella 4, 221 Hafnarfjörður, Iceland, with a note inside carrying your order number. Return shipping is paid by the customer; once we receive and check the item, we refund you (excluding the original shipping cost). For exchanges, tell us which item you'd like instead and we'll arrange it.
