Most-loved sweaters
Hand-knitted Icelandic sweaters for men — the traditional lopapeysa, made in Iceland from 100% Icelandic wool. This is the sweater Icelandic farmers, sailors and hikers actually wear: knitted by hand, built for weather, and good for decades if you treat it kindly.
The wool does the work. Icelandic sheep grow a double fleece — an insulating inner coat and a wind- and water-resistant outer coat — and lopi yarn keeps both. The result is serious warmth without bulk, whether you're outdoors in the wind or just cold-blooded at your desk.
Which style should you choose?
Pullovers are the traditional choice; cardigans with a zip or buttons work better if you're in and out all day; hooded versions are the ones to take up a mountain. Fit is relaxed — see the size guide to find the size that comes closest to your measurements.
