Hand Washing: Icelandic wool sweaters should be hand-washed in lukewarm water using a mild detergent that's suitable for wool; Lopasápa
Avoid Agitation: Gently swish the sweater in the water without rubbing or twisting it, as wool is susceptible to damage when wet.
Rinsing: Thoroughly rinse the sweater in lukewarm water until all soap residue is removed.
Drying: Press out excess water without wringing, and lay the sweater flat on a towel to air dry. Avoid hanging or exposing it to direct heat or sunlight.
Storage: Store the wool sweater in a dry and cool place, preferably folded. Avoid using plastic bags, as they can trap moisture and cause damage. More info

The Viking who took NormandyGöngu-Hrólfur, Hrólfur the Walker, is the name the Icelandic sagas give Rollo, the Norse chieftain who became the first ruler of Normandy in 911 and whose descendants went on to conquer England.
Unspun wool, knitted straight from the platePlötulopi is pencil roving, not spun yarn. Ístex says garments knitted from two or three strands of it come out exceptionally light and airy.

Which size should I choose?

Lay a sweater that already fits you well flat and measure straight across the chest just under the arms, then match that number to the chest width column in the size table. Hrólfur runs closer than our three-strand men's sweaters: size L is 51 cm (20.1 in) across, where Fennrir in L is 57 cm (22.4 in). We cannot alter a sweater, so pick the nearest size.

Is it warm enough for a real winter?

Yes. Two strands of Plötulopi knitted together make a thick, dense fabric, a step lighter than our three-strand sweaters such as Fennrir. Ístex, the mill that makes the wool, describes Icelandic wool as lightweight, water-repellent and highly breathable, with fine inner fibres that insulate and long outer fibres that resist the weather.

How does it feel to wear?

Dense and warm, with the dry, springy feel of Icelandic wool, and lighter on the shoulders than a three-strand sweater. A lopapeysa is worn over a shirt or a long-sleeved top, the way Icelanders wear theirs, and worn that way it is comfortable all day.

How do I wash it?

By hand, in lukewarm water, with a mild wool soap such as Lopisápa. Swish it gently without rubbing or twisting, rinse in lukewarm water, press the water out without wringing, and lay it flat on a towel to dry away from direct heat and sun. Store it folded, somewhere cool and dry, and not in a plastic bag.

Can I exchange it if the size is wrong?

Yes. An unworn sweater in its original condition can be exchanged for another size under our return policy, linked at the foot of every page. Return postage is yours to pay unless the sweater is faulty or the mistake is ours.
