Loki is the trickster of the Norse gods, a shape-shifter who turned himself into a mare, a salmon and a fly. The cardigan named for him is more straightforward: two greys and white, metal buttons from collar to hem, and the thickest wool we knit.

Hand Washing: Icelandic wool sweaters should be hand-washed in lukewarm water using a mild detergent that's suitable for wool; Lopasápa
Avoid Agitation: Gently swish the sweater in the water without rubbing or twisting it, as wool is susceptible to damage when wet.
Rinsing: Thoroughly rinse the sweater in lukewarm water until all soap residue is removed.
Drying: Press out excess water without wringing, and lay the sweater flat on a towel to air dry. Avoid hanging or exposing it to direct heat or sunlight.
Storage: Store the wool sweater in a dry and cool place, preferably folded. Avoid using plastic bags, as they can trap moisture and cause damage. More info

Which size should I choose?

Lay a cardigan or sweater that already fits you well flat and measure straight across the chest just under the arms, then match that number to the chest width column in the size table. Loki is cut like our Fennrir men's sweater: size L is 57 cm (22.4 in) across. We cannot alter a cardigan, so pick the nearest size.

Buttons or a zip?

Buttons. Loki closes with metal buttons from the collar to the hem, so you can wear it open over a shirt or buttoned right up on a cold day.

How does it feel to wear?

Thick, dense and warm, with the dry, springy feel of Icelandic wool. A lopapeysa cardigan is worn over a shirt or a long-sleeved top, the way Icelanders wear theirs, and because it opens at the front it is easy to take off when you come indoors. One owner found the fit perfect.

How do I wash it?

By hand, in lukewarm water, with a mild wool soap such as Lopisápa. Swish it gently without rubbing or twisting, rinse in lukewarm water, press the water out without wringing, and lay it flat on a towel to dry, away from heat and sun. Store it folded in a cool, dry place, not in a plastic bag.

Can I exchange it if the size is wrong?

Yes. An unworn cardigan in its original condition can be exchanged for another size under our return policy, linked at the foot of every page. Return postage is yours to pay unless the cardigan is faulty or the mistake is ours.
