U — your questions, answered

Why is the colour different from the pattern?
Pond heather (9736), the only colour in the pattern, is no longer made. This kit has teal heather (9967) in its place, so the whole tunic — body, cable, collar and armhole bands — is knitted in teal heather. It is a little greener than the dark petrol blue in the photo. You can choose another shade in the colour picker.
Which size should I knit?
Four sizes — S to XL — with a chest of 86, 92, 98 and 104 cm and a length of 78 to 82 cm. The hem is a little wider than the chest: two stitches are decreased at each side, twice, on the way up.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the amount for XL: 7 balls of teal heather. S uses 5, M and L 6.
Is the bag in the photo included?
No. The pink cabled bag uses the same cable, which is why the chart has a note “Bag: rep 4 times”, but the bag pattern is not in this leaflet and not in the kit — ignore the note. The black top under the tunic, the skirt and the tights are not part of the pattern either.
Is anything unclear in the pattern?
Two places. The cable: work it until the piece measures 50 (50) 52 (52) cm — after the chart rows below the repeat and 8 (8) 9 (9) repeats, the piece measures only about 46 (46) 48 (48) cm at the printed row gauge (our calculation). The neck: “Dec 1 st at both sides of neck edge and then in every 10th row, total 3 times” — the shoulders only come out at the printed 9 (11) 12 (13) stitches if you decrease once and then 3 more times, 4 in all (our calculation). Go by the shoulder count.
What does the kit with needles include?
6 mm (US 10) circular needles in 60 and 80 cm; a 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needle in 40 cm for the armhole bands — ADDI, as named in the pattern. The cable needle is not included.
