Nói Síríus created the Traditional range in 2014 for visitors; every bar is wrapped in a photograph of the Icelandic landscape. Made in Reykjavík, where Nói Síríus has made chocolate since 1933.

How sweet is it?

Sweeter than a plain bar. The filling is a caramel made with sugar, glucose syrup and molasses, with a little salt to cut it. It eats like a filled chocolate rather than a slab, so a row at a time is plenty for most people.

What is on the wrapper?

A photograph of Iceland. Nói Síríus created the Traditional Icelandic Chocolate range in 2014 for visitors who wanted Icelandic chocolate to take home, and every bar in it carries a landscape. Keep the paper; it is half the gift.

Does it contain nuts or gluten?

The ingredients are milk chocolate and caramel, so it contains milk and soya. Nói Síríus states it may contain gluten and tree nuts. If you have an allergy, read the wrapper when it arrives.

Will it melt on the way?

It can soften in warm months, and a filled bar sooner than a plain one. We do not refund melted chocolate unless you add Shipping protection in the cart (terms of service, sections 9 and 10). A soft bar firms up again after an hour in the fridge.
