What's in the kit
Stjörnuband — “band of stars” — is a long cushion cover by Védís Jónsdóttir from Ístex’s Lopi 44, with big, bold white and ruby red stars made to match her Christmas tree skirt Jólaskjól. The pattern calls it comfort for a tired back.

Size
48 × 28 cm (19 × 11″) — for a 30 × 50 cm (11¾″ × 19¾″) cushion insert. The cover is smaller than the insert on purpose, because the knitted fabric stretches.
Gauge
13 sts × 18 rows = 10 cm (4″) in stocking stitch on 6 mm needles.

How it is knitted
The cover is knitted in the round as one tube from the chart — 124 stitches, 51 rounds — so it looks the same on both sides. The top is grafted together in white, the cushion insert goes in, and the lower edge is grafted in the same way.
