What's in the kit
Púls — pulse. The pattern’s inspiration came from graphs, Hawaii shirts and nineties jumpsuits. Védís Jónsdóttir’s mittens from Ístex’s Lopi 38 have a wrist of fine Einband in six bright colours — turquoise, citron, lime, purple, pink and cherry — and a plain black Léttlopi hand.

S/M and L/XL — 36 (42) stitches around the hand at 18 stitches to 10 cm; the hand is 16 (18) cm long before the top.
Gauge
Einband: 26 sts × 30 rows = 10 cm (4″) on 3.5 mm needles. Léttlopi: 18 sts × 24 rows = 10 cm on 4.5 mm needles.

How it is knitted
Knitted in the round from the cuff up. The wrist starts with 26 rounds of turquoise Einband on 3 mm needles and a purl round — a hem that folds inside as a lining — then the six-colour Einband pattern from the chart on 3.5 mm, decreased to 36 (42) stitches. The hand is black Léttlopi on 4.5 mm needles, with the thumb placed on scrap yarn and knitted last, and the top decreased on four needles.
