This is The Icelandic Store's "Century" Red Léttlopi Wool Cardigan Knitting Kit: the yarn to hand-knit your own Icelandic cardigan "Öld" (meaning Century), designed by Védís Jónsdóttir. The cardigan is knitted in the round, cut open at the front and finished with crocheted bands and 7 button loops.
Inside this kit is the Léttlopi yarn for the red version of the Öld cardigan. Léttlopi is a beloved unspun Icelandic wool, celebrated for its unique combination of lightness, warmth, and breathability, making it ideal for cozy and durable garments. The kit includes enough yarn for the largest size (XL), ensuring you have ample material regardless of your chosen size (XS, S, M, L, XL). The vibrant garnet red, accented with classic black, pine green, and white, perfectly captures the spirit of traditional Icelandic patterns.
Each kit comes with the pattern in English. For added convenience, you have the option to include high-quality knitting needles (4.5 mm circular needles in 40cm and 80cm lengths, 4.0 mm circular needles in 80cm, and 4.5 mm double-pointed needles) at a special bundled price, allowing you to start your project immediately upon arrival. What's more, we offer the flexibility to swap yarn colors to personalize your cardigan, simply by leaving a note at checkout—at no extra charge! Create a cherished garment that reflects your style and keeps you wonderfully warm, embracing the enduring legacy of Icelandic wool.
Not included: 7 small buttons and a 3½ mm (US E/4) crochet hook (both on the pattern’s materials list).
