Little white balls that look like sugared almonds but aren't: crack the crisp sugar shell and you get milk chocolate, then a soft liquorice centre. Snjóboltar means "snowballs", and the name is the whole design brief. Made in Iceland by Sambó, a liquorice brand you'll find in every Icelandic sweet aisle. If you want the bolder version, look for the same balls dusted in liquorice powder instead of sugar.
