Which size should I choose?

Lay a sweater that already fits you well flat and measure straight across the chest just under the arms, then match that number to the chest width column in the size table. The table gives the width laid flat, so double it for the full chest: size M is 49 cm flat, 98 cm around. Riddari is cut closer than our 3-ply sweaters, so compare the numbers rather than going by your usual letter. We cannot alter a sweater, so pick the nearest size.

How does it compare with your thicker sweaters?

Riddari is the lighter knit. Ístex gives Léttlopi a gauge of 18 stitches to 10 cm, against 14 for two strands of Plötulopi, so the fabric is finer and less bulky than our 3-ply Plötulopi sweaters. It is still 100% Icelandic wool and still warm; it simply takes up less room under a coat.

How does it feel to wear?

Lighter and smoother than a 3-ply lopapeysa, with the dry, springy feel of Icelandic wool. It is worn over a shirt or a long-sleeved top, the way Icelanders wear theirs. One owner bought his for his wife, who has worn it almost every day since.

By hand, in lukewarm water, with a mild wool soap such as Lopisápa. Swish it gently without rubbing or twisting, rinse in lukewarm water, press the water out without wringing, and lay it flat on a towel to dry, away from heat and sun. Store it folded in a cool, dry place, not in a plastic bag.

Can I exchange it if the size is wrong?

Yes. An unworn sweater in its original condition can be exchanged for another size under our return policy, linked at the foot of every page. Return postage is yours to pay unless the sweater is faulty or the mistake is ours.
