4.5 mm (US 7) circular needle — the only needle the pattern names, with no length given. The kit with needles has the 80 cm length, which goes round the body and works for the magic-loop method the designer recommends for the sleeves — and for the top of the yoke and the neckband.

Not included
4 stitch markers, 4 stitch holders (or waste yarn) for the underarm stitches, and a darning needle — the pattern lists them, the kit does not include them.

How it is knitted
Knitted seamlessly from the bottom up, all on a 4.5 mm circular. Body and sleeves start with k2, p2 rib and are knitted in the round to the underarms in golden heather, then joined for the round yoke. Short rows raise the back neck before the colourwork starts. The yoke chart uses five colours: a chocolate and rust zigzag edge on the golden heather, then, on straw, a ring of large rust pomegranates crossed by an apricot stripe, olive leaves, smaller fruits and buds, and small sprigs up to the neck. The neck is finished with a straw i-cord (as in the photos) or with k2, p2 rib, and the underarm stitches are grafted together.
