Overview
What's in the kit
Meira og minna — more or less. “In Iceland you always need a knitted hat, in summertime too,” says the pattern. This is the chunky one of Védís Jónsdóttir’s two hats in Ístex’s Lopi 42: six strands of unspun Plötulopi held together, then five, then four, in golden yellow — one plate for the whole hat.
Included
- Icelandic Plötulopi wool yarn — one plate, enough for either size
- Knitting pattern in English (PDF) — emailed right after purchase
- ADDI knitting needles — only if you choose the kit with needles

How it is knitted
Knitted in the round with Plötulopi strands held together: cast on loosely with 6 strands on 10 mm needles and knit 18 (20) cm, then 3 rounds with 5 strands on 9 mm and 3 rounds with 4 strands on 8 mm, and decrease to the top. No rib — the edge is left to roll.
Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 42 (no. 5), Ístex.
