This knitting kit includes all material needed to make your own traditional Icelandic sweater: Elina, sweater dress made of Plötulopi, Designer; Tove Richter, is a Norwegian knitting designer that knits mostly with Icelandic wool yarn.

Beautiful wool and patterns

I am already working on one of these beautiful knit kits and when I saw this, worked in the same yarn and in a beautiful blue I couldn't resist it. It will be my early 2026 project.

I've never knitted a lopapeysa — can I manage a kit?

Many of our customers knit their first lopapeysa from one of these kits. Choose a one-colour or simple-yoke design to start, and warm up with our free patterns. Stuck mid-project? Write to us — we knit these ourselves.

What exactly is in the box?

The knitting pattern and the genuine Ístex lopi yarn for the design. On most kits you can add needles as an option at no fuss.

Which yarn do the kits use?

Most use Léttlopi — the classic lopapeysa yarn — while some designs call for Álafoss Lopi, Plötulopi or Einband. Each kit page says which.

Do US orders pay customs on delivery?

No — duties and taxes are settled at checkout, so nothing is due when the parcel arrives. No customs bills, no courier fees.
