Berry Lettlopi Wool Open Front Cardigan — your questions, answered

Which size should I knit?
There are six sizes, S to 3XL, with a chest of 90, 99, 108, 116, 125 and 134 cm all round (35½–52¾″). The cardigan is wider at the lower edge, 108 to 161 cm, because the body is knitted loose on 6 mm needles. Body length to the underarm is 40–45 cm and sleeves 45–50 cm.
Do I have to cut my knitting?
Yes, up the front. The body and yoke are knitted in the round with a purl stitch at each end of the round. You sew twice by machine with small straight stitches up each chain of purl stitches, then cut between the rows of stitching.
How are the front bands made?
With a 3.5 mm crochet hook and black heather: three rows of single crochet worked over the machine stitching. On the right band you make three button loops of two chains — one at the neckband, one where the yoke begins and one between. The three buttons are not in the kit.
Why so many needle sizes?
Each part has its own: 5.5 mm for the seed-stitch edges at hem and cuffs, 6 mm for the loose body and sleeves, 4.5 mm for the last 3 cm and the yoke, and 3.5 mm for the seed-stitch neckband.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the 3XL amounts: 13 balls of 0005 black heather and 3 of 0054 light ash heather. S uses 8 balls of black heather, and each size up uses one more; sizes S to 2XL use 2 balls of light ash.
What does the kit with needles include?
ADDI needles: 6 mm (US 10) circular needles in 40 and 80 cm, a 5.5 mm (US 9) 80 cm circular needle, 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles in 40 and 80 cm, and 5.5 mm and 6 mm double-pointed needles. The 3.5 mm (US 4) 40 cm needle for the neckband and the 3.5 mm crochet hook are not included.
