Description

Dark chocolate (58%) blended with caramel chocolate, topped by hand with raspberry-dusted dates, dried raspberry and a grind of black pepper. It's the most surprising bar of the four: bittersweet chocolate and caramel, then a bright raspberry sourness, then a slow tickle of pepper, with a hint of liquorice from the date mix. Sweet, sharp and warm, in that order.

Aurora is one of four bars in Anna Marta's Icelandic Nature Chocolate Collection. From around September the Icelandic nights get dark enough for the northern lights, and the wrapper photograph is exactly that — keep it, frame it, eat the chocolate.

Is the pepper strong?

A tickle, not a burn — it arrives after the raspberry and fades quickly. Most people who try it are surprised how well it works with the fruit.

How does it compare with the other Circolo bars?

Aurora is fruity and peppery. Waterfall is mild salted caramel with coconut, Volcano is nutty with chilli and ginger, Black Sand is caramel and sea salt.

Does chocolate ship well in summer?

Yes. In the warm months we pack chocolate against the heat and it travels 2–4 days by DHL Express. If a bar has softened in transit, an hour in the fridge brings it back.

Will I pay duties or customs on delivery?

Not in the US or Canada — duties and taxes are settled at checkout. For other destinations, any local import charges are collected by the courier on delivery.
