Land means exactly what it says: the land. Pattern no. 1050 takes its colours from the Icelandic landscape itself, moss to lava to sky. Part of the Álafoss landscape series, designed by Védís Jónsdóttir for Ístex, in Icelandic wool.
Icelandic wool is light for its size and properly warm, so this is a throw you reach for: over the sofa, at the foot of the bed, around your shoulders on a cold evening. The weave has a fine texture and both short ends finish in a fringe.
130 × 200 cm (about 51 × 79 in). Air it out between uses; wool rarely needs washing. When it does, hand wash in lukewarm water with wool soap, do not wring, and dry flat. One of our most-gifted blankets, for weddings, housewarmings and thank-yous.
