The hat is made of soft merino wool, but the pattern itself is made of Icelandic wool.

Dark wool hat with light grey and blue classical pattern made from Icelandic wool and is a traditional Icelandic knitwear. Warm and cozy for cold climate weather.

Who was Fanney?

The wife of Varma's master knitter. She designed the pattern, and Varma named the hat after her; the same zigzag has since been knitted on a headband and on mittens.

How does it feel to wear?

Smooth and light. The body is a fine, soft wool knit rather than a thick one, so it fits under a hood and does not leave you hot indoors, and the Icelandic wool in the pattern gives the brim a little more body. The one reviewer here simply calls the quality great.

Will it fit me?

It comes in one size for men and women and the knit stretches. The brim is folded double, so you can wear it turned up high or pulled lower over the ears.
