Description

Villiköttur, "wild cat", is a Freyja bar with three textures: a layer of caramel, crisp rice and a biscuit, coated in milk chocolate with min. 35% cocoa solids. Caramel makes up 32% of the bar by Freyja's figures.

Freyja lists it in its Klassík range, and its Villiköttur adverts with comedian Jón Gnarr won awards around 2000. Made by Freyja in Kópavogur; founded in 1918, it is Iceland's oldest working sweet maker. 50 g; one bar or five.

Good to know: contains wheat, barley, egg and milk; may contain traces of nuts. Contains gelatine. Store cool and dry.

Is this the bar from the Jón Gnarr adverts?

Yes. Freyja's own history names the Villiköttur campaign with comedian Jón Gnarr among the award-winning advertising it ran around the year 2000.

What allergens are in it?

Wheat, barley, egg and milk, and Freyja says it may contain traces of nuts. The recipe also uses gelatine, so it is not vegetarian.

Will chocolate melt on the way?

The chocolate and caramel can soften in warm months. We do not refund melted chocolate unless you add Shipping protection in the cart (terms of service, sections 9 and 10). A soft bar firms up again in the fridge.

Will I pay duties or customs on delivery?

Not in the US or Canada — duties and taxes are settled at checkout, so nothing is owed at the door. For other destinations, any local import charges are collected by the courier on delivery.
