Freyja - Villiköttur

A layer of soft caramel, crunchy biscuit pieces and a coat of creamy Freyja milk chocolate. The biscuit gives a light crackle, the caramel stretches and chews, and the chocolate rounds it off — a proper mouthful of a bar rather than something you nibble. If you like a wafer-and-caramel bar, Villiköttur is the Icelandic one.

Villiköttur means "wild cat", and the bar has become a fixture in Icelandic candy aisles. It's made by Freyja in Reykjavík, chocolate makers since 1918. There's a sister bar with a liquorice caramel centre if you'd rather go that way.
