Good to know

Strompur — your questions, answered

Is the top closed?
No. After 5 rounds of stocking stitch the stitches are bound off very loosely and the top is left open to roll up — the photo shows a ponytail coming through it.
What size is it?
One size, a woman’s size. The pattern gives no finished measurements.
What do 3-ply, 6-ply and 9-ply mean?
Strands of Plötulopi held together, not different yarns. You first wind three strands softly together into three balls of different sizes, since not every ball is used all the way; one ball is 3-ply, two balls together are 6-ply and all three together are 9-ply. Everything comes from the plates in the kit.
Which needle for the 3-ply rounds?
The instructions say 6 mm there, but the materials list and the gauge give 6.5 mm for 3-ply; the kit with needles has 6.5 mm.
What does the kit with needles include?
6.5 mm (US 10½), 10 mm (US 15) and 12 mm (US 17) double-pointed needles — ADDI, as named in the pattern.
