Stigi — ladder. “A bulky scarf is perhaps enough,” says the pattern. Védís Jónsdóttir’s scarf from Ístex’s Lopi 43 is knitted from four hanks of white Jöklalopi, the bulky lopi, on 10 mm needles: moss stitch on either side of a ladder of eyelets that runs the full two metres, with fringes at both ends.

Gauge
10 sts × 12 rows = 10 cm (4″) in moss stitch (UK double moss stitch) on 10 mm needles.

10 mm (US 15) circular needle, 80 cm (knitted back and forth — the pattern says 60–80 cm)
How it is knitted
Knitted back and forth on 20 stitches: 8 stitches of moss stitch, a 4-stitch eyelet column — two decreases with a double yarn over between them — and 8 more stitches of moss stitch, repeated until the scarf measures 200 cm, then bound off loosely. For the fringes, 60 strands of 50 cm are cut; three strands folded in half make each fringe, ten at each end.
