A 33% caramel chocolate — deep, toasty and creamy, more like the top of a crème brûlée than a plain milk bar — with crispy pearls scattered through it for crunch. Kandís say it's a bar you finish in one go, and they're not wrong.

Stekkjastaur ("Sheep-Cote Clod") is the first of the thirteen Yule Lads, coming down from the mountains on the night of 12 December. He sneaks into sheepfolds to suckle from the ewes, but his stiff legs make him so clumsy he rarely manages it. Made in Iceland by Kandís, who use only fine-flavour cacao — here from South America.
