Kambgarn is Ístex's soft yarn: 100% fine merino wool, spun smooth for garments worn directly on the skin. It is the yarn we recommend for baby clothes — and for anyone who loves wool but finds traditional lopi too rustic.

Is Kambgarn itchy?
No — it is 100% fine merino, made for next-to-skin wear. It is the softest yarn we carry.
Is it Icelandic wool?
It is an Ístex yarn, made by Iceland's wool mill — but spun from fine merino rather than Icelandic fleece, which is exactly what makes it so soft.
What should I knit with it?
Baby clothes are the classic choice. It also makes lovely hats, scarves and any garment that touches bare skin.

Kambgarn is a soft, worsted-spun Icelandic wool yarn that knits up smooth and even, making it a favourite for sweaters, accessories and colourwork where stitch definition matters. As a sport-weight yarn it pairs beautifully with finer needles.
