Slydda — sleet. Rebekka Kristjánsdóttir’s yoke sweater from Ístex’s Lopi 33 is knitted with two yarns together — orange Einband and chocolate heather Plötulopi — for a warm rust-brown tweed. In the ladies’ version, stripes of a single strand of orange Einband ring the yoke and cross the sleeves, one near a cuff and one on the other upper arm.

Gauge
14 sts × 22 rows = 10 cm (4″) in stocking stitch on 5 mm needles, with one strand of Einband and one of Plötulopi held together.
Needles used in the pattern (included when you choose the kit with needles)
5 mm (US 8) circular needles, 40 and 80 cm (the pattern says 40 and 60 or 80 cm)
4.5 mm (US 7) circular needle, 80 cm — the body rib is cast on with it, though the materials list leaves it out
4.5 mm and 5 mm double-pointed needles
How it is knitted
Knitted with one strand of orange Einband and one of chocolate heather Plötulopi together. The body is cast on with a double strand of Einband on 4.5 mm needles, then worked in 2×2 rib with both yarns and in stocking stitch on 5 mm to the underarm. The sleeves are made the same way, each with a 5 cm stripe in a single strand of orange Einband — near the cuff on the right sleeve, near the top on the left. Body and sleeves are joined and the yoke is knitted in the round with decreases from a chart, with a 10-round stripe in single orange Einband. The neckband is 4 cm of 2×2 rib, bound off with double Einband.
