Védís Jónsdóttir’s Rosa from Ístex’s Lopi 28 is a round-yoke pullover in Bulky Lopi (Jöklalopi) on 10 mm needles, with ¾-length sleeves and a twisted rib at the hem, cuffs and neck. It comes in two lengths: short, 30–33 cm to the underarm, and long, 50–53 cm, cast on wider and decreased at the sides. There are two yoke charts: A, a wide zigzag band with a second zigzag inside, and B, the same band with a row of diamonds, each embroidered with a small X in Léttlopi. Three colour versions as printed — black (short or long), white (long) and blue (short) — in sizes S to XL. Mountain blue (1415), the main colour of the blue version, is no longer made; the other colours are.

You will also need
Markers for the side decreases of the long version (in the pattern’s list). Stitch holders for the underarm stitches and a tapestry needle for grafting and for the embroidery — the instructions use them, but the pattern’s list leaves them out.
How it is knitted
Knitted in the round from the bottom up on 10 mm needles; the rib at the hem, cuffs and neck is a twisted rib — knit 2 through the back loop, purl 2. Short body: cast on in A with 72 (80, 88, 96) stitches, 10 cm of twisted rib, then stocking stitch to 30 (31, 32, 33) cm. Long body: cast on 80 (88, 96, 104) stitches, 10 cm of twisted rib, then stocking stitch with 1 stitch decreased at each side marker every 9th (10th, 10th, 10th) round, 4 times, to 72 (80, 88, 96), and on to 50 (51, 52, 53) cm. The sleeves are cast on in A with 32 (36, 36, 36) stitches on 10 mm double-pointed needles, knitted in twisted rib for 10 cm and then in stocking stitch; sizes S and XL get 1 stitch every 10th round, 2 times — after the first stitch, then before the last stitch of the round (our reading of “in sequence”) — to 34 and 38 stitches, and sizes M and L have no increases; the ¾ sleeve is knitted to 30 (31, 32, 33) cm, or the length you want. Body and sleeves are joined in A for the round yoke, 120 (128, 136, 144) stitches, and chart A or B — 28 rounds, with a decrease in each 8-stitch repeat on five of them — takes it to 45 (48, 51, 54); the smaller sizes, and size L, leave out marked rounds. The neckband is knitted in A on 9 mm: decreased to 40 (40, 44, 44) stitches and worked in twisted rib, 4 cm for the short sweater or 7 cm for the long, then bound off. The underarms are grafted, and with chart B an X is embroidered in Léttlopi into each diamond.

Why you'll love it
- Two lengthsShort, 30–33 cm from the hem to the underarm, or long, 50–53 cm — the long one is cast on wider and decreased at the sides to the chest.
- Zigzags or diamondsChart A has a wide zigzag band with a second zigzag inside; chart B has the same band with diamonds, each embroidered with a small X.
- Twisted ribThe hem, cuffs and neck are knit 2 through the back loop, purl 2 — 10 cm deep at the hem and cuffs, 4 or 7 cm at the neck.
- ¾ sleevesThe sleeves are 30–33 cm from the cuff to the underarm — the pattern calls them ¾ sleeves and adds “or as long as preferred”.
