The yarn
Unspun plates — the softest, lightest lopi
Plötulopi is Icelandic wool in its purest form: unspun plates, delicate as pencil roving. Knit it single for feather-light shawls, doubled for the softest lopapeysur, or ply up to four strands for heavy blankets and coats. It is also the traditional favourite for felting, weaving and hand-spinning — and if a strand breaks, you simply twist it back together with a drop of water.
