Good to know

Pífa — your questions, answered

Which size should I knit?
Six sizes — 34, 36, 38, 40, 42 and 44 — with a knitted waist of 60 to 76 cm and a length of 52 to 57 cm.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the amount for 42 and 44: 6 balls of black, 2 of white and one each of light beige and acorn. 34 and 36 use 4 balls of black, 38 and 40 use 5. The pattern says you can add rounds for a longer skirt — that takes more black.
How is the waist finished?
With elastic, sewn close to the cast-on edge by machine with a zigzag stitch. The pattern says to measure the elastic to fit and gives no width. The elastic is not included.
The pattern says “light beige” — which ball is that?
0086, called Light Beige Heather in our shop.
Is the hat in the photo included?
No — it is Snjór, a white Jöklalopi hat from the same book, and a separate kit.
What does the kit with needles include?
4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles in 60 and 80 cm — ADDI, as named in the pattern. The pattern gives 80–100 cm for the longer needle; the kit has 80 cm.
