Lopi 12 No. 22 — your questions, answered

Which size should I knit?
Five sizes, XS to XL, with a chest of 98 to 123 cm and a length of 62 to 72 cm to the front neck. Sleeves are 41 to 45 cm for women and 46 to 50 cm for men.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the amount for size XL: 8 balls of white, 2 of black heather, 2 of ash heather and 1 of acorn. XS uses 6 balls of white and one of each other colour. The pattern gives one amount for both sleeve lengths.
Is the cardigan in the photo included?
No — the woman wears Lopi 12 no. 2, a long black cardigan by the same designer, and a separate kit. The black polo collar under the sweater is not part of it either; the sweater has a folded ribbed neckband.
Anything to watch for?
The charts start at different stitches depending on the size, and some sizes share a start point. The start points are marked under each chart, and Chart 1 has its own start for the sleeves. In sizes S and XL the front is 2 stitches narrower than the back; the totals are right.
What does the kit with needles include?
A 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needle in 80 cm; 6 mm (US 10) circular needles in 40 and 80 cm; 4.5 mm and 6 mm double-pointed needles — ADDI, as named in the pattern. The pattern lists only 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, but each sleeve changes to 6 mm after the cuff and has only 40 to 48 stitches after the first round — too few to go round a 40 cm circular — so the kit adds 6 mm double-pointed needles.
