Lilja - Auburn Button Cardigan knitting kit

This knitting kit includes all material needed to make your own Icelandic cardigan sweater. Original instructions: Astrid Ellingsen, revised instructions: Hulda Hákonardóttir, original pattern: Margrét Jóhannesdóttir and redesign: Védís Jónsdóttir. The cardigan is knitted from side to side.
The Lilja pattern is available in both green and auburn designs, each made with Álafosslopi yarn.

Many of our customers knit their first lopapeysa from one of these kits. Choose a one-colour or simple-yoke design to start, and warm up with our free patterns. Stuck mid-project? Write to us — we knit these ourselves.

What exactly is in the box?

The knitting pattern and the genuine Ístex lopi yarn for the design. On most kits you can add needles as an option at no fuss.

Which yarn do the kits use?

Most use Léttlopi — the classic lopapeysa yarn — while some designs call for Álafoss Lopi, Plötulopi or Einband. Each kit page says which.

Do US orders pay customs on delivery?
