Good to know

Leggur — your questions, answered

Why is one colour different from the pattern?
Orange (1410) is no longer made by Ístex. This kit has apricot (1704) in its place — knit it wherever the pattern says
Which size should I knit?
Two sizes, S/M and L/XL — 56 (60) stitches at the top and 44 (48) at the ankle. The pattern prints no circumferences; by the gauge that is about 31 (33) cm round the upper leg and 24 (27) cm round the ankle (our calculation). You knit 32 (34) cm before the instep shaping, or as long as you need.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the amount for a pair in L/XL: 3 balls of bottle green heather and 1 of apricot — 4 balls. S/M uses 2 balls of bottle green.
Are there slips in the pattern?
A few. “Rep dec every 6th rnd 6 times” means six decrease rounds in all, counting the first — that is what gives 44 (48) stitches. “Rep from *to* ones. Rep inc ones more” means once, and once more: three increase rounds in all, giving 50 (54) stitches. The pattern doesn’t say which colour to use from the decreases down to the lower rib: keep going in the main colour, as in the photos.
Is the black dress in the photo part of the pattern?
No — only the leg warmers are. Her long black knit is a different design.
What does the kit with needles include?
3.5 mm (US 4) and 4.5 mm (US 7) double-pointed needles — ADDI, as named in the pattern. The stitch marker is not included.
