Lava Dark chocolate candy bites - Góu Hraunbitar

Small vanilla wafers coated in crisp puffed rice and dipped in 56% dark chocolate. Same knobbly, lava-rock look and light crunch as the milk-chocolate Hraunbitar, but the darker chocolate makes them less sweet and more cocoa-forward — the version that goes best with a strong coffee. Light enough that a handful doesn't sit heavily.

Hraun means lava, and Hraunbitar are “lava bites”: the rice-puff surface really does look like an Icelandic lava field. Made by Góa in Hafnarfjörður, a couple of streets from our warehouse. Also available in milk chocolate.
