Description

Krókur — hook. In the pattern’s story grandma has knitted new mittens, and frost won’t bite the fingers. Védís Jónsdóttir’s mittens from Ístex’s Lopi 40 are black heather Léttlopi with a light ash hook pattern, three balls for the pair.

How it is knitted
Knitted in the round from the cuff up, starting at the thumb side: 6 cm of 1×1 rib in black heather on 3.5 mm needles, then the two-colour pattern from the chart with paired increases at the start and end of the round. At round 19 the thumb stitches go on a holder; the hand continues to round 40 and is decreased on both sides to the top. The thumb is picked up and knitted in black heather. Floats longer than six stitches are woven in at the back.

Will I have yarn left over?
