KERTASNÍKIR - FOREST CHOCOLATE WITH ICELANDIC PINE
✓ No surprises on delivery — U.S. duties & taxes settled at checkout
Open the wrapper and it smells like a Christmas tree. Creamy 40% milk chocolate with pine oil that comes through strong — resinous, something like mint and citrus behind it — before the sweetness settles it down. People adore it or pass it to someone who does.
Kertasníkir ("Candle-Snatcher") is the thirteenth and last Yule Lad, arriving on the night of 24 December. Old Icelandic candles were tallow — edible, to a hungry troll-child — so he begged them off children and ate them like sweets. The pine comes from forests in Borgarfjörður, West Iceland: needles distilled, the oil folded into the chocolate. Made in Iceland by Kandís with South American cacao.
Good to know: 70 g bar · milk chocolate 40% with Icelandic pine oil · milk chocolate, so contains milk; no full allergen list on our page — always check the wrapper · keep cool; in summer we pack chocolate against the heat.
How people buy it: as the finale of a thirteen-bar Yule Lad countdown, or on its own as the strangest, most Christmassy bar in a gift box.
