Haus — your questions, answered

Which size should I knit?
Four sizes — 10, 12, 14 and 16 years — with a chest of 86, 92, 98 and 104 cm, 58 to 66 cm long and sleeves of 45 to 52 cm.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the amount for 16 years: 8 balls of black heather and 1 of white. 10 years uses 6 balls of black heather, 12 and 14 years use 7.
Is the chart drawn the right way round?
The charts are drawn in reverse — the key gives white squares as black heather and black squares as white — so the ram’s head and the stripe come out white.
Are there errors in the pattern?
Two, both in the sleeves. For 10 and 12 years the decreases leave 34 and 36 stitches, not the 32 and 34 printed — the sleeve chart agrees with 34 and 36. And the length before the cuff is printed for only three sizes; take the sleeve length from the size table minus the 3 cm cuff: 42, 44, 46 and 49 cm.
Is the hat included?
No — the hat in the photos is Nei, knitted in Jöklalopi. It is a separate kit.
What does the kit with needles include?
6 mm (US 10) circular needles in 40 and 60 cm; a 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needle in 60 cm; 4.5 mm and 6 mm double-pointed needles — ADDI, as named in the pattern. The pattern gives 60–80 cm for the longer needles; the kit has 60 cm.
