Questions people ask before they buy

What is in the pail?
Froth from the milk. The National Museum of Iceland says that, before milking machines, he slipped into the cowshed and slurped the foam off the milk in the buckets.
What does Giljagaur mean?
A gil is a gully, the deep cut a stream makes in the land, and gaur means a lad or a fellow. Gully Gawk is the usual English name.
Is he bigger than the others?
A little. The maker gives him as about 9 cm (3.5 in); he and Sausage Thief are the two at that size, and the other twelve ornaments are about 7.5 cm.
Are the backs flat?
No. A customer who collects them wrote that each is a full hanging figure, painted by hand, and not flat at the back. Behind him you see his cap, grey hair and shaggy waistcoat.
