A 40% milk chocolate with soft, milky tones — the extra cocoa makes it rounder and less sugary than the milk bars most of us grew up on, with a slow, creamy melt. Plain in the best sense.

Gluggagægir ("Window-Peeper") is the tenth Yule Lad, arriving on the night of 21 December, and one of the creepier ones. Curious rather than cruel, he presses his face to windows to look in — often to spot something worth taking. In small farmhouses with few windows, a face at the dark glass was equal parts funny and unnerving. Made in Iceland by Kandís, who use only fine-flavour cacao — here from South America.
