Gáttaþefur ("Doorway-Sniffer") is the eleventh Yule Lad, arriving on the night of 22 December. His enormous nose can smell fresh baking from miles away, so he goes door to door sniffing out laufabrauð — the thin, crisp, cut-patterned "leaf bread" Icelanders make for Christmas. A scented chocolate seemed only fair. Made in Iceland by Kandís, who use only fine-flavour cacao — here from South America.
