Frikki — Ladies’ Initial Sweater Knitting Kit

Frikki — the short form of Friðrik, the name of its designer, Friðrik Örn Hjaltested; Hulda Hákonardóttir wrote the pattern for Ístex’s Lopi 31. A plain Álafosslopi sweater with a round yoke and a tall ribbed collar, and one big initial sewn on the front — this is the ladies’ version, longer in the body, in dark grey heather with a light ash letter.

How it is knitted
Body and sleeves are knitted in the round in plain stocking stitch from 8 cm of 2×2 rib; the body is taken in twice at the sides on the way up. They are joined and the round yoke is shaped with evenly spaced decrease rounds, then finished with a 2×2 rib collar, 16–20 cm tall. Last, a letter or picture of your own is sewn on the front in the contrast colour with duplicate stitch, its top 1–2 rounds below the first yoke decrease.
