Banana Bombur are Freyja's chocolate-coated caramels with banana flavour: milk chocolate (min. 35% cocoa solids) around a yellow caramel centre. One of our reviewers compared them to chocolate-covered taffy. There is no liquorice and no wheat in the recipe.
Made by Freyja in Kópavogur. Freyja was founded in 1918 and is Iceland's oldest working sweet maker; the cat on the bag has been its mark since around 1940.
