How it is knitted
Body and sleeves are knitted in the round from twisted rib; the body is shaped in at the waist and out again towards the chest, with a dropped-stitch ladder between purl stitches up the centre back. The cuffs start as a wide twisted rib; every other purl stitch is then dropped and unravelled down to the cast-on, which makes the “cobweb ruffle”. Body and sleeves are joined for a round yoke decreased from a chart, and the tall collar is ruffled the same way. Three purl stitches on each side of the centre front are machine-sewn and cut between, then unravelled into the fringe that runs down both fronts. A 1 m cord is drawn through the neckline.
