How it is knitted
The body starts with moss stitch knitted back and forth on 5 mm needles; then two purled stitches are cast on for a steek and it is joined and knitted in the round in stocking stitch on 6 mm. The sleeves start with moss-stitch cuffs in the round. Body and sleeves are joined and the yoke is knitted in the round from a seven-colour chart with decreases, from 145–169 stitches down to 51–59. The collar is black: six rows of moss stitch, a purled fold line and six rows of stocking stitch, folded to the inside and slip-stitched down. The steek is machine-sewn and cut, and a zipper is sewn in under the front edges.
