Auðna — your questions, answered

Which size should I knit?
There are five sizes — S, M, L, XL and XXL — with a chest of 94, 99, 103, 107 and 111 cm all round (37–43¾″). The body is 32–37 cm long to the underarm and the sleeves 45–49 cm, depending on size.
Why are there two strands?
The pattern uses Plötulopi as 2-ply: two strands of the unspun wool held together, two colours at a time — midnight blue with winter blue for the rib and collar, then changing pairs through the bands. That gives 14 stitches and 19 rows to 10 cm on 5.5 mm needles.
Three colours differ from the printed pattern — why?
The kit sheet that comes with the pattern lists three replacements: 2027 wine red for 1050 berry heather, 1425 sunset rose heather for 1054 light berry, and 2023 light blues blue for 1053 faded denim. The other five colours are as printed.
Will I have yarn left over?
The pattern uses the same amount in every size — 2 plates each of 0709 midnight blue and 1432 winter blue heather and one plate of each of the other six colours — and that is what the kit holds. The pattern suggests using what is left for the Happ hat.
Can I knit the hat too?
The pattern includes Happ in two sizes, S and M/L (52 and 56 cm around), knitted from the rest of the sweater yarn. It needs 5 mm (US 8) and 5.5 mm (US 9) 40 cm circular needles and 5 mm double-pointed needles; the 5 mm needles are not in the kit with needles.
What does the kit with needles include?
ADDI needles for the sweater, in the sizes the pattern names: 5.5 mm (US 9) circular needles in 40 and 80 cm, 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles in 40 and 80 cm, and 4.5 mm and 5.5 mm double-pointed needles.
