Description

Dawn was the inspiration for Uppstytta: it’s morning and the fog lingers by the sea while rays of light try to break through. A boat neckline, swingy back and wide sleeves with gathered cuffs give this Léttlopi lopapeysa a modern silhouette — here in a sea-inspired turquoise palette of glacier blue, lagoon, bottle green, galaxy and black.

I've never knitted a lopapeysa — can I manage a kit?

Many of our customers knit their first lopapeysa from one of these kits. Choose a one-colour or simple-yoke design to start, and warm up with our free patterns. Stuck mid-project? Write to us — we knit these ourselves.

What exactly is in the box?

The knitting pattern and the genuine Ístex lopi yarn for the design. On most kits you can add needles as an option at no fuss.

Which yarn do the kits use?

Most use Léttlopi — the classic lopapeysa yarn — while some designs call for Álafoss Lopi, Plötulopi or Einband. Each kit page says which.

Do US orders pay customs on delivery?

No — duties and taxes are settled at checkout, so nothing is due when the parcel arrives. No customs bills, no courier fees.

Can’t wait to start knitting!

I had been eyeing this sweater kit for about a year but hesitated to purchase due to lack of confidence in my knitting skills. In a ‘if not now, when?’ moment I placed my order and could not be more impressed with the ease and quality of service which made for a stress-free, pleasant transaction - all before opening the box! The skeins are arranged by color, the colors are absolutely beautiful, the supply seems ample. Zero issues with the digital pattern download, and pattern is clearly written but the color chart is a bit tricky as the colors blend into each other.

This kit came unbelievably fast! The turquoise is the color of the Blue Lagoon. The black like the black sand beach. So it recaps my trip to Iceland.
