Description

Uppbót — Benefit. “Inspired by the sweater Bót. Thoughts are with life by the sea.” A short, cropped button-front cardigan-jacket in chunky Álafosslopi: oatmeal heather with a bold patterned yoke, patterned bands at hem and cuffs, and dark grey ribbing — the pattern in dark grey and white. Body and sleeves are knitted in the round, joined for the circular yoke, then the front is cut open (steek) and finished with buttons — the pattern walks you through it.

I've never knitted a lopapeysa — can I manage a kit?

Many of our customers knit their first lopapeysa from one of these kits. Choose a one-colour or simple-yoke design to start, and warm up with our free patterns. Stuck mid-project? Write to us — we knit these ourselves.

What exactly is in the box?

The knitting pattern and the genuine Ístex lopi yarn for the design. On most kits you can add needles as an option at no fuss.

Which yarn do the kits use?

Most use Léttlopi — the classic lopapeysa yarn — while some designs call for Álafoss Lopi, Plötulopi or Einband. Each kit page says which.

Do US orders pay customs on delivery?

No — duties and taxes are settled at checkout, so nothing is due when the parcel arrives. No customs bills, no courier fees.
