Védís Jónsdóttir’s Þytur — a rustle — from Ístex’s Lopi 43: a long, flared skirt in galaxy Léttlopi, a very dark heather with flecks of colour, knitted from the waist down, with a rib waistband and a purled panel that widens down the back into a deep fold.

How it is knitted
Knitted in the round from the waist down. The waistband is K1, P1 rib on 3.5 mm; short rows then raise the back waist. On 4.5 mm the skirt flares out with increases at seven of the eight markers (never at the centre front), and a purled panel at the centre back widens from 4 to 60 stitches, so the back falls in a deep fold. It ends with two rounds of seed stitch at the hem. Elastic can be sewn inside the waistband.
