Meira og minna — more or less. “In Iceland you always need a knitted hat, in summertime too,” says the pattern. Védís Jónsdóttir’s hat from Ístex’s Lopi 42 is knitted with unspun Plötulopi strands held together — four, then three, then two — in spruce green, one plate for the whole hat.

10 sts × 15 rows = 10 cm (4″) in stocking stitch on 8 mm needles with 4 strands of Plötulopi.

How it is knitted
Knitted in the round with Plötulopi strands held together: cast on loosely with 4 strands on 8 mm needles and knit 14 (16) cm, then 4 rounds with 3 strands on 6.5 mm and 4 rounds with 2 strands on 5.5 mm, and decrease to the top. No rib — the edge is left to roll.
