Good to know

Margret Violet Lettlopi Wool sweater — your questions, answered

Which size should I knit?
There are seven sizes, XS to 3XL, with a chest of 89, 93, 98, 104, 109, 118 and 124 cm (35 to 48¾″) all round. The body is 41 to 47 cm to the underarm and the sleeves 47 to 51 cm.
The pattern names other colours — which kit colour goes where?
The pattern is written for light ash, dark grey, ash and grape. Knit white where it says A (light ash), black heather for B (dark grey), 0056 ash for C (the same colour) and violet for D (grape), which is also the ribbing colour.
What does 2 ply mean for the ribs?
You knit the ribbing with two strands of Léttlopi held together on 6 mm needles. After the rib you change to a single strand and 4.5 mm needles for the chart band and the body.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the amount for 3XL: 9 balls of white, 6 of violet, 2 of black heather and 2 of ash. XS uses 5 white, 4 violet, 2 black heather and 1 ash, so the smaller sizes have several balls over.
What does the kit with needles include?
A 6 mm (US 10) circular needle in 80 cm and 6 mm double-pointed needles for the ribbing, and 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles in 40, 60 and 80 cm with 4.5 mm double-pointed needles — ADDI. You will also need 4 stitch markers, not in the kit.
