Leopold Icelandic Sweater Rust Heather — your questions, answered

Which size should I knit?
Nine sizes, 2XS to 4XL, with a chest of 84, 89, 93, 98, 102, 107, 113, 120 and 129 cm (33 to 50¾″) all round. Pick the one nearest a sweater that fits you, then follow the men’s or the women’s sleeve length.
Is it a men’s or a women’s sweater?
Both. The body is the same for everyone and only the sleeve length differs — in size M, for example, 49 cm to the underarm for men and 47 cm for women. The pattern also lets you knit body and sleeves to the length you want.
How is the front of the neck shaped?
With German short rows across the back — once at the top of the body and again at the start of the yoke — so the front of the neck sits lower than the back. The neck finishes with 5 rounds of rust rib and 4 rounds of black sheep stocking stitch.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the 4XL amounts: 11 balls of rust and 4 of black sheep. Size M, for example, uses 8 rust and 3 black sheep. One ball each of oatmeal and light beige covers every size.
What does the kit with needles include?
ADDI 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles in 40, 60 and 80 cm, a 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needle in 80 cm, and 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm double-pointed needles — the sizes the pattern names.
Is there anything else I need?
Four stitch markers — the pattern suggests one in a different colour for the start of the round — and a tapestry needle. They are not in the kit.
