Description

Leopold is Tove Richter’s “Viking-inspired” lopapeysa: a rough, graphic yoke in smooth, warm colours. Rust heather with the pattern in black sheep heather, oatmeal and light beige, knitted in Léttlopi. The pattern gives separate sleeve lengths for women and men. Tove Richter is a Norwegian designer who knits almost exclusively with Icelandic wool.

I've never knitted a lopapeysa — can I manage a kit?

Many of our customers knit their first lopapeysa from one of these kits. Choose a one-colour or simple-yoke design to start, and warm up with our free patterns. Stuck mid-project? Write to us — we knit these ourselves.

What exactly is in the box?

The knitting pattern and the genuine Ístex lopi yarn for the design. On most kits you can add needles as an option at no fuss.

Which yarn do the kits use?

Most use Léttlopi — the classic lopapeysa yarn — while some designs call for Álafoss Lopi, Plötulopi or Einband. Each kit page says which.

Do US orders pay customs on delivery?

No — duties and taxes are settled at checkout, so nothing is due when the parcel arrives. No customs bills, no courier fees.
