Which size should I knit?
There are eight sizes, XXS to XXXL, with a finished bust of 82, 89, 93, 98, 104, 109, 115.5 and 120 cm (32¼–47¼″). The designer calls the size names indicative, so choose by these finished measurements. The body is 39–47 cm to the underarm and the sleeves 47–55 cm, or as long as you like.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the XXXL amounts: 10 balls of 1701 fjord blue, 2 each of 1700 air blue, 9427 rust heather and 9420 navy blue, and 1 of 1704 apricot. XXS uses 7 balls of fjord blue, XS to L use 8, XL and XXL use 9, and every size up to XXL needs only one ball of each yoke colour.
How is it knitted?
From the bottom up in the round: 6 cm of k2, p2 rib on 3.5 mm needles, then the body in fjord blue on 4.5 mm. The sleeves are knitted on double-pointed needles or with magic loop, increasing every 2 cm, then joined to the body on one circular needle for the yoke chart.
How do I finish it?
Bind off the neck with i-cord and sew the underarms. The designer asks you to soak the sweater in cold water, at most 30 °C, until no air is left in it — laundry vinegar or Lopi Ullarnaering can be added — then lay it flat, ease it into shape and let it dry completely before trying it on.
What does the kit with needles include?
ADDI needles: 4.5 mm (US 7) and 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles, each in 40 and 80 cm, and 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm double-pointed needles — the pattern’s needles, including the 40 cm lengths you need if you do not use magic loop.
